Forensics

As of the beginning of the 2005-2006 school year, FCMUN and FCForensics officially joined. (But we probably won't call it FCMUNF...or FCFMUN.)

Membership

Membership in the National Forensic League is attained through competitive or service public speaking. Speeches are given points based on rankings by judges or the level of membership in the NFL. To maintain membership, you must earn at least 10 points per academic year. To be a member of FC Forensics-MUN in good standing, you also must pay annual dues of $5.00.

Tournaments

All tournaments will be posted on the Forensic-MUN Office window and in the various sponsors' rooms at least 2 weeks before the event. Register for Forensics tournaments in the Forensic-MUN Office or in room 204/265 (respectively.) Make sure you read all tournament information before registering. You must be registered by the wednesday of the week before the specific tournament. We cannot add students after that day. Furthermore, you must be prepared to compete--one of the officers must see your presentation beforehand. On the Wednesday before each tournament, there will be a short after-school practice for all registered competitors from 2:30 to 3:30...if you cannot attend, please make arrangements with the appropriate coach (see the Contact Us page.)

Coaching Sessions

It is your responsibility to make arrangements with the appropriate sponsor for coaching. If enough students are interested, we will schedule specific practices for different events. Your success depends upon your level of commitment.
