Duquesne Model United Nations Conference
January 27 and 28. The Duquesne University Model United Nations is an annual simulation/competition for area high school students. Organized and hosted by Duquesne’s United Nations Council, more than 400 students are attending the event from 28 high schools, including Carlynton, Mt. Lebanon and Yough High Schools and Vincentian Academy-Duquesne University. The students will represent pre-assigned nations in simulations of actual United Nations committees. This year’s committees include the U.N. Population Fund, the First Committee of the General Assembly—Disarmament and International Security, the Sixth Committee of the General Assembly—Legal, the U.N. Environmental Program, the Special Session of Children and the U.N. Security Council. Awards and scholarships to Duquesne University will be presented to the best participants at the competition.
Johns Hopkins University Model United Nations Conference IX (JHUMUNC IX)
March 2 to 5 in Baltimore, MD. The Johns Hopkins Model United Nations Conference (JHUMUNC) is an annual occurrence, bringing high school students together for a weekend of high-intensity simulation. Students come to Baltimore, Maryland not only from many parts of the United States, but also from nations around the globe. JHUMUNC is unique in its relatively small size, and [they] pride [them]selves on not only on putting on a first-rate conference, but also on [their] high staff to delegate ratio. JHUMUNC has also incorporated an interactive cabinet simulation between three countries - the only such interaction of its kind.

Northwestern University Model United Nations III (NUMUN III)
April 6 to 9 in Evanston, IL. Hosted by the University's students and faculty, NUMUN III will provide delegates with an opportunity to explore a broad range of issues while striving to maintain an environment in which all students will have the chance to participate equally. [Their] goal will be to offer a variety of committees - both UN and non-UN - that, no matter what the size or issue, will appeal to all participating delegates.
